Now Training Criminal Justice Recruits
December 9th, 2010 Comments Off
The leadership at Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy and Florida Public Safety Institute have been working with the Law Enforcement Families Partnership to make the Online Prevention Curriculum available to those that come through their recruit training program.
The Florida Public Safety Institute has said that they view this as a critical training for all recruits. Bill Bierbaum, a criminal justice coordinator at the training academy, has stressed the importance of integrating this training into the current recruit programs.
“There are things you need to be aware of in this type of profession. You’re going to see and do things that nobody else does, and there’s a certain stress factor there that could trigger things that you don’t want. This gives them [recruits] some insight that there are better ways of handling things.” –Bill Bierbaum, criminal justice coordinator
